OUAC January Deadline 2027: A Checklist for Ontario Applicants

Ontario high school students must submit their OUAC 101 application by 15 January 2027 to apply to Ontario universities for fall 2027. Some programs and early-acceptance rounds look at applications well before that, so finishing before the December break is the safer plan.

What is the OUAC deadline for 2027?

The Ontario Universities’ Application Centre lists 15 January 2027 as the deadline for Ontario high school students to submit completed applications. It also sets 21 January 2027 as the target date for universities to receive application data and grades for applications submitted by then. Wilfrid Laurier University lists the same date for fall 2027 admission from Ontario high schools, and 1 April 2027 for most other applicants.

What is the difference between OUAC 101 and 105?

The 101 application is for current Ontario high school students. The 105 application is for everyone else, including students from other provinces or countries, according to an Ottawa Catholic School Board guide. Out-of-province universities may need a separate application, so check each one.

Why apply early?

School guidance describes some universities offering early acceptance to students who submit their 101 application early, often by mid-November, and notes that applying close to the January deadline may mean you are considered in a later round. The same guide recommends finishing before the Christmas holidays because the OUAC website is very busy in the new year. Your offers still depend on your Grade 12 marks, so keep working after you apply.

What should you have ready?

  1. A shortlist of programs. Check each program’s required Grade 12 courses and averages.
  2. Your Grade 11 and 12 marks. Know your current top six average. Our guide to the Ontario admission average shows how it is calculated.
  3. Your OUAC login details and Ontario Education Number. Your guidance office can help if you cannot find them.
  4. Any supplementary applications. Some programs require essays, portfolios or forms in addition to OUAC.
  5. The fees. Payment is required before OUAC processes the application.
